Cleaning & Maintenance
Keep your AirRepair purifier at peak performance with simple, ESP-friendly cleaning. No disposable filters—just washable, reusable parts.
Safety first: Always switch off and unplug your unit before removing filters or plates. Never reinstall ESP plates while damp.
1. Setup & Placement
Get the best performance from day one
Proper placement ensures your AirRepair can circulate and clean air efficiently throughout your space.
Guidelines:
-
Choose an open spot: Place the unit in a central, unobstructed location — not behind furniture or tight corners.
-
Give it room: Leave at least 20–30 cm clearance on all sides so the inlet and outlet can flow freely.
-
Face the grills correctly: Position the purifier so the outlet faces into the room — this ensures clean air is pushed out effectively. On the standard range, the outlet is the front panel with the light; on the Pro model, it’s the slim strip outlet.
-
Shut windows & doors: For best results, run it in a closed room so it’s not constantly fighting outside air.
👉 If you’re unsure which side is the outlet, hold a tissue near the grills — the airflow will make it clear. Correct setup ensures faster air cleaning and better performance.
2. Light Clean (Every 8 Weeks)
Remove larger particles and surface build-up
This clean is designed to remove larger particles such as dust, pet dander, and pollen that collect on the outside of the unit, the pre-filter, and the ESP plates.
Steps:
-
Vacuum the exterior & all-filters: Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft-bristle brush attachment. This removes larger debris without scratching the filters, which could otherwise affect performance.
-
Wipe the ESP plates: With the collector plates removed, wipe them down using a microfiber cloth or paper towel. If you notice a fine black residue (similar to soot) — this means it could be time for a deep clean.
-
Use an anti-static brush: For stubborn dust or hard-to-reach areas between the ESP grills, an anti-static brush works best. These are safe for electrical components and are available directly on our website.
👉 This quick clean takes just a few minutes and helps keep your purifier looking and performing its best.
3. Deep Clean Every 2200 Hours Runtime (3 Months)
Thorough wash for maximum performance
For a full reset of your system, we recommend a deeper clean every 3 months (or sooner if your air quality is poor and the filter becomes visibly dirty) In very clean environments, the unit may run for 12 months or more before needing a deep clean.
Steps:
-
Remove the ESP collector plates from the unit.
-
Prepare a wash solution: Fill a sink, bathtub, or laundry tub with lukewarm water and add a small amount of mild dishwashing soap.
-
Wash the plates: Gently scrub the plates in the soapy water, making sure to remove any dirt, soot, or residue clinging to the grills.
-
Rinse thoroughly: Ensure all soap is removed, as any residue can affect performance.
-
Dry completely: Place the plates at an angle in the sink or tub to drip dry. Allow them to fully air-dry before reinserting — this may take several hours. Never reinstall damp plates into the unit.
Once dry, simply slide the plates back in and your AirRepair purifier will return to 100% performance.
4. Activated Carbon Filters
Refresh odour & VOC performance
AirRepair models also include an activated carbon filter for tackling odours, smoke, and chemical pollutants. Unlike disposable filters, these can be recharged to extend their life.
How to Recharge:
- Remove the carbon filter from your purifier.
- Place it outside in direct sunlight for several hours.
- The UV rays and heat will help release trapped gases and refresh the filter’s adsorption capacity.
👉 You don’t need to do this often — once every few months is plenty, depending on your air quality. If the filter ever becomes too saturated or worn over time, replacements are also available on our website.
💡 Tip: If you notice performance drop or heavier build-up, don’t wait — perform a deep clean earlier.
